When Perseus finds Medusa, she is not the mindless beast he expected. Months after the coup that crowned Perseus anax of Seriphos, earthquakes shatter the lower city, and refugees crowd the gates. When Perseus's coronation ends in disaster, Poseidon rises from the wreckage with an impossible ultimatum: surrender Medusa by the longest night, or watch the island they liberated vanish beneath the tide.
